A League of Legends region transfer is not a clean copy of the account’s competitive state. Riot’s current transfer FAQ says the current ranked placement does not transfer, while hidden MMR moves and is adapted to the destination region; the friends list also transfers.1 After transferring, expect to complete placements again before treating any displayed-rank claim as current.3
The first decision is therefore not whether the old rank looks valuable. Confirm that the intended destination appears in the account’s live transfer menu, then assess MMR, new-region placement, friends, and ranked eligibility separately. Transfer routes and availability can change, so the client screen on 2026-08-31 is the practical source for that account’s available destinations.1
What moves, and what must be established again?
| Account field | After an official region transfer | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Visible tier, division, and LP | The current ranked placement does not transfer.1 | Open Profile > Ranked after completing the required placements. |
| Hidden MMR | Transfers and is adapted to the destination region.1 | Do not infer an exact MMR number from the old visible rank; Riot does not display MMR directly. |
| Placement games | Must be played again; Riot has warned that the account may seed lower than on its former server.3 | Check the live ranked panel for the remaining games and provisional result. |
| Ranked eligibility | Not proven by a previous-region rank. | Check the destination-region queue and any restriction notice on the account. |
| Friends list | Transfers with the account.1 | Open the social panel after transfer and confirm the people who matter are present and reachable. |
| Honor | Riot’s transfer guidance says it will not remain the same as on the previous server.3 | Check Profile > Overview rather than relying on a pre-transfer image. |
| Ranked rewards | Timing matters; Riot has disabled transfers around reward processing and advised completing a transfer after rewards arrive.3 | Read the current season or split reward notice before moving. |
| Transfer cooldown | Riot introduced a 90-day cooldown from Patch 14.18.3 | Confirm the account’s next eligible transfer date in the current client or with Riot Support. |
Check whether the transfer is available to this account
Do not assume that two named regions form a supported route. Log in to the owner-controlled account, open the League client’s Store and account-services area, and confirm that the destination is offered now.1 The absence of a destination or transfer control is a stop condition, not evidence that a seller or support agent can bypass it.
- Record the current server or patchline shown in Riot Client settings.
- Open the transfer service and confirm the exact destination appears.
- Read every warning shown for that route before accepting it.
- Check for a cooldown, active restriction, or unavailable-transfer message.
- Confirm the live RP requirement and supported payment method without relying on an old quoted cost.
- Save a dated screen showing the route and eligibility, but never share a password, recovery code, session token, or payment credential.
Rank and MMR do not describe the same thing
A previous-region tier is historical evidence, not the post-transfer result. Riot documents hidden MMR as moving with the account and being adapted to the new region, while the visible ranked placement does not move.1 Because the destination has its own MMR distribution, the eventual visible tier can differ from the tier shown before transfer.1
Treat a claim such as “Diamond account with Diamond MMR after transfer” as two unsupported claims unless fresh destination-region screens establish the visible placement and actual match results support the broader description. Riot does not provide a client screen containing an exact hidden-MMR number.
Friends transfer, but social usefulness still needs checking
Riot lists the friends list among the data that transfers.1 That answers whether the list moves, but not whether each friend plays on the destination server, remains reachable, or can join the same ranked queue. Check the Riot ID and social panel after transfer, and ask the relevant friend to confirm their region if playing together is part of the decision.
- Match the Riot ID and tagline shown in the client.
- Confirm the expected friends appear after the move.
- Check whether the people you want to play with use the destination region.
- Treat screenshots of retired clubs or old summoner names as historical, not current social evidence.
- Keep blocked-user status and other account-specific social settings marked unknown unless a current screen shows them.
Compare the three practical choices
| Choice | Rule position | Ranked continuity | Social continuity | Recovery control | Cost category | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Transfer your own eligible account | Uses Riot’s official region-transfer service.1 | Hidden MMR moves, but visible placement must be established again.13 | Friends list transfers, subject to practical destination-region compatibility.1 | Remains with the original account holder | Current in-client transfer charge; verify before acting | A player who owns the account, values its existing content, and accepts new placements |
| Keep your account in its current region | No region change | Existing regional ranked state remains associated with that region | Existing regional social setup remains in place | Remains with the original account holder | No transfer charge | A player who can tolerate the region, latency, and friend-group limitations |
| Create your own account in the intended region | Riot permits multiple accounts when they are not used for rank manipulation, penalty evasion, or disruption.4 | Starts without the old account’s ranked history | Builds a new destination-region friend list | Controlled by its creator from the start | No account-transfer purchase; ordinary optional game spending may apply | A player prioritizing rule compliance, destination certainty, and recovery control |
Choose an official transfer only for an account you created and control, when the live client offers the intended route and you accept that ranked placement must be rebuilt. Keep the account where it is when collection continuity matters more than destination-region play. Create your own destination-region account when ownership, recovery control, or transfer eligibility is disputed.
When an account listing should end the decision
- The seller will not show a fresh current-region screen.
- The proposed destination is absent from the live transfer menu.
- A visible-rank promise is presented as proof of the post-transfer rank or exact hidden MMR.
- The listing depends on bypassing a cooldown, restriction, or disabled route.
- Important friends are claimed to remain playable together without confirming their regions.
- The original creator retains the email, recovery path, receipts, or other control.
- The transaction requires account sharing or a change of owner, which Riot prohibits.2

compare VALORANT rank, MMR, and competitive eligibilityMatch every listing claim to a current screen
| Claim in an offer | Acceptable current evidence | Status if evidence is missing |
|---|---|---|
| Current region | Riot Client settings showing the League patchline or server | Unknown |
| Destination eligibility | Live account-transfer menu showing the destination | Unsupported |
| Visible rank | Current Profile > Ranked screen with queue and season visible | Seller-stated |
| Hidden MMR | No exact official client number is available; assess only through documented transfer behavior and subsequent matches.1 | Exact-number claims remain unverified |
| Placement status | Destination-region ranked panel showing provisional or completed placement state | Unknown |
| Friends | Current social panel plus confirmation of the relevant friends’ regions | Unknown |
| Transfer cooldown | Live eligibility notice or Riot Support response for that account | Unknown |
| Ownership and recovery | Original creator’s continued control of the Riot account | A change of owner conflicts with Riot’s Terms.2 |
G2G can be one place to compare how League account options are currently described, but a listing cannot override Riot’s ownership rules or prove that a region transfer is available. Compare only after the region, ranked state, social requirements, and recovery control have been reconciled with current screens.
Check current League account region listingsThe final choice
For an account you created, an available official transfer can preserve hidden MMR and the friends list, but it will not preserve the current visible ranked placement.1 Complete the move only if the destination is offered, the placement reset is acceptable, and any cooldown or reward timing is clear. If the account would change owners, create and control your own account in the intended region instead; Riot expressly prohibits account sales, sharing, and transfers between people.2
