A Diablo II: Resurrected item is useful only if the intended character can receive and equip it. Cross-progression lets a linked Battle.net account access online characters and loot on supported platforms where the player owns D2R, but it does not by itself prove that two players on different platforms can meet for delivery.1 Confirm the character, mode, exact item, and supported in-game route before comparing purchase options.
What must match before an item can reach the character?
Start with the recipient rather than the listing. Blizzard distinguishes Online, Offline, Ladder, Non-ladder, Hardcore, Expansion, and Non-Expansion play; Ladder is unavailable to offline characters, and offline characters cannot play with friends.1 A player-to-player delivery therefore needs an eligible online character, while the remaining mode details must agree with the proposed session.
| Decision field | PC recipient | PlayStation recipient | Xbox recipient |
|---|---|---|---|
| Required access | D2R access on PC and the intended Battle.net account.1 | D2R access on PlayStation and the intended linked Battle.net account.1 | D2R access on Xbox and the intended linked Battle.net account.1 |

| Mode details to reconcile | Ladder or non-ladder, Hardcore or normal, and Expansion or Classic.1 | Ladder or non-ladder, Hardcore or normal, and Expansion or Classic.1 | Ladder or non-ladder, Hardcore or normal, and Expansion or Classic.1 |
| Console multiplayer requirement | No console subscription applies; verify current Battle.net and game access on the account. | The current store page says PS Plus is required for online play.3 | The current store page says online multiplayer requires Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate.2 |
| Cross-platform evidence | Linked-account cross-progression is documented, but that alone is not evidence of a PC-to-console player session.1 | PS4 and PS5 cross-generational play is documented; do not extend that statement to PC or Xbox sessions.1 | Xbox One and Series X|S cross-generational play is documented; do not extend that statement to PC or PlayStation sessions.1 |

The account-policy drawback comes before price
Blizzard’s current End User License Agreement prohibits unauthorized commercial uses that include gathering in-game currency, items, or resources for sale outside the platform or game.4 That creates account-policy exposure for real-money item transactions even when the item and character otherwise appear compatible. An in-game trade using legitimately acquired game value, self-found play, or crafting is the safer choice when avoiding that exposure matters.
Compare the practical alternatives
| Option | Best fit | Main benefit | Material drawback | Choose another route when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Exact listed item | A player who has reconciled every character, item, and delivery field | Targets a specific base, quality, and modifier set | Real-money delivery carries the Blizzard policy exposure described above.4 | The route is unclear, the item varies from the evidence, or any mode detail conflicts |
| In-game player trade | A player with suitable game value and access to a compatible session | Lets both parties inspect the proposed exchange in the game | Finding a counterpart and agreeing on value can take effort | You cannot join a compatible session or verify the item before acceptance |
| Find or craft an equivalent | A player whose build can use several acceptable outcomes | Avoids reliance on an outside delivery claim | Drops and crafting results may not produce the exact desired item | The build needs a precise unique item or modifier combination |
| Change the build | A player blocked by level, attributes, class, or unavailable gear | Can remove dependence on one scarce item | May change skills, breakpoints, or supporting equipment | The current build is already functional and the replacement is readily obtainable |
| Continue self-found | A player prioritizing progression without outside transfers | Keeps acquisition inside ordinary play | The required item may take substantial play time to obtain | The item is optional and a readily available substitute achieves the same goal |
Leave the option when the transfer route is unclear
- The seller cannot state which platform session both characters will use.
- The recipient is offline, or the listing and character disagree on ladder, Hardcore, or Expansion status.
- The evidence does not show the exact item base, quality, modifiers, sockets, inserted components, or quantity.
- The proposed item exceeds the recipient’s visible level, attribute, or class requirements.
- The terms allow an unspecified substitute when only one exact item will work.
- Someone asks for a Battle.net, PlayStation, Xbox, email, or recovery credential.
- The proposed transaction conflicts with the account-policy risk you are willing to accept.4
Once every compatibility field is resolved, G2G can be used as one place to compare currently listed D2R item options. Compare only listings that identify the exact item and a workable route for your recipient.

- Select the platform on which the proposed handoff would occur.
- Confirm that the intended character appears under Online, not Offline. Offline characters cannot play with friends.1
- Record ladder or non-ladder, Hardcore or normal, and Expansion or Classic from the character selection screen.1
- Confirm that the selected Battle.net and platform accounts are your intended accounts without sharing login or recovery information.
- Copy the character name exactly and check available inventory space.
- Open the character statistics needed for the item: level, class, strength, dexterity, and any other requirement displayed by its tooltip.
Access, session, and transfer are three separate questions
First ask whether your own online character is available on the destination platform. Blizzard says this requires linking the Battle.net account to each supported platform on which you own D2R.1
Next ask whether the recipient and delivering character can enter the same compatible game. Blizzard explicitly documents cross-generational play between PS4 and PS5 and between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.1 Its cited console guide does not establish PC-to-PlayStation, PC-to-Xbox, or PlayStation-to-Xbox multiplayer, so a seller must not use cross-progression as the answer to that session question.
Finally, confirm that the item can be placed through the proposed in-game action and accepted by the intended character. A successful account link or shared character screen does not establish this last step.
Reconcile the exact item, not its shortened name
| Listing claim | Evidence to inspect | Confirmed when | Unclear or incompatible when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Item identity | Fresh tooltip showing the full name, base, and quality | All three agree with the requested item | The image is cropped, the base differs, or only a nickname is supplied |
| Modifiers and values | Complete tooltip with every modifier and variable value | The visible values satisfy the build’s stated needs | The listing promises a range but does not identify the delivered roll |
| Sockets and components | Tooltip and visible socket contents | Socket count and inserted runes, jewels, or gems match | Empty and filled sockets are described interchangeably |
| Quantity | Inventory or trade view showing the deliverable amount | The visible amount equals the order | A bundle image does not identify the amount to be transferred |
| Character requirements | Item tooltip compared with the recipient’s level, class, and attributes | The intended character satisfies every visible requirement | One or more requirements exceed the character’s current state |
| Character mode | Current character-selection and delivery details | Online status and all stated mode fields agree | Offline is involved, or ladder, Hardcore, or Expansion details conflict |
| Delivery route | Platform and session details stated before payment | Both characters can use the named in-game route | The explanation relies only on cross-progression or changes after payment |

On PC, use the intended Battle.net account and online character, then require a delivery explanation that names the compatible session. On PlayStation, confirm PS Plus access for online play and whether the other character can join the same PlayStation environment.3 On Xbox, confirm an eligible Game Pass plan for online multiplayer and the same-session route.2 In every case, choose an in-game alternative if the explanation substitutes account access for actual delivery compatibility.
Make the final choice on the character screen
Proceed to an option comparison only when the recipient is online, every mode field agrees, the exact item satisfies the character’s requirements, and both parties can name the supported in-game route. Compare eligible listings by exact-item evidence, substitution terms, delivery method, and total disclosed cost—not by headline price alone. If any field remains unresolved, trade in game, pursue an equivalent, or keep playing self-found instead.
