Let your friend choose what to buy
A friend choosing an avatar accessory may want something different from a friend saving for an in-game purchase. A Robux transfer leaves that decision with the recipient. If you already know the exact experience item they want, use that experience’s supported delivery route instead.
| What you want to give | Where the value goes | The useful distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Robux through Plus | The recipient’s Robux balance | The sender needs Plus; the recipient can choose a purchase.[2] |
| An experience item | That experience’s supported recipient/inventory | Use its own gift or trade feature; Plus is not a universal item-gift button. |
| A game pass | The account buying that privilege | Pass ownership is different from sending currency.[4] |
| A credit-producing gift card | The account redeeming its code | Credit can fund Robux or an eligible Plus subscription.[5] |
Set up the sender and recipient before the gift
The sender needs Plus. Sending and receiving also depend on the age and parental-approval rules in Roblox’s transfer guide.[1] [2]
| Account situation | Transfer requirement |
|---|---|
| Age 16 or older | Complete the required age check.[1] |
| Under 16 | Use a linked parent’s approval for each transfer.[1] |
| Regions requiring approval under 18 | Parent approval also applies at ages 16–17.[1] |
Base Plus does not include a monthly Robux allowance. Plus 500, Plus 1000 and Plus 2000 add their named monthly Robux amounts. You therefore need a spendable balance as well as an active Plus subscription to send a gift.[2] Roblox does not charge a fee for the transfer itself.[1]

Send from the app or desktop
In the app, open the Robux control, select Send, find your friend and enter the amount. Continue with Next, then use Send or Edit after checking the recipient and amount. On desktop, open the Robux control and Buy Robux first; the Send option then leads to the same recipient-and-amount choice.[3]
Use the recipient’s actual account, not a matching display name alone. Once the transfer is completed, it cannot be reversed.[1]
The friend still needs to accept
The recipient selects Accept on the pending-transfer notification and completes parent approval when required. Only then is the gift credited; My Transactions shows its status.[1]
Match the amount to the available transfer tier
| Account tier | Daily maximum | Monthly maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Default transfer tier | 500 Robux | 1,000 Robux |
| Eligible account with 2-Step Verification and good standing | 5,000 Robux | 10,000 Robux |
Roblox publishes these tiers in its transfer guide and may change them. A limit message identifies when the available amount has been reached.[1]
If an eligibility hold remains unresolved after 7 days, the transfer is canceled and returned. You can find the held balance under Pending Robux in My Transactions; rejection or nonacceptance can also return it.[1]
Choose credit for Plus, or Robux for the gift balance
A Roblox gift card that redeems into account credit can fund Robux or an eligible Plus subscription. Some codes redeem only into Robux, so they do not create the credit used to buy Plus. Pick the code type for the result you need.[5]
For a Plus subscription funded with credit, Roblox directs users through its gift-card redemption route. Keep the account receiving the subscription separate from the friend receiving a later Robux gift: the credit is redeemed by its account owner first.[2] [5]
To fund that account, compare credit-producing Roblox gift cards and their region or currency conditions. A Robux-only code adds to the balance; it cannot replace the account credit used for a Plus subscription.
